Monolac monofilament
Monolac monofilament is a mid-term absorbable, synthetic suture made of glycolide and ε-Caprolactone, available in natural colour for the closure of superficial wounds and in violet for all other indications, when a mid-term monofilament is needed.
During absorption the material elicited only a very slight inflammation.
The material is degraded into adipic acid, which is completely metabolised in the body. The process begins with a loss of tensile strength, followed by a loss of mass at a later stage.
Specifications
General soft tissue approximation and/or ligation in all specialties, where an absorbable material is indicated.
Contraindication:
Monolac monofilament should not be used in tissues subject to expansion, stretching or distension, or which might require long-term mechanical support.
